Restore your balance and well being with gemstone essence soaps, oils, and salts

For over twenty years I have offered a technique of healing using crystals and gemstones positioned on and around the body called crystal healing. I have found it to be a most effective method to ease pain, stress, and tension particularly in sessions where Reiki and Aromatherapy are used in combination. A typical session lasts between 30 - 60 minutes.

Crystal healing is a gentle, relaxing, non-evasive therapy which seeks to balance energy in the body, mind, spirit and emotions. Since ancient times crystals have been used to heal and restore harmony. Crystal healing continues to be the cornerstone of my own practice.

Crystal healing uses the natural energies, color and vibrations of crystals and gemstones to clear and energize the aura and rebalance the chakras. The crystals are also used to work on releasing emotional and physical energy congestion. I offer both physical laying-on-stones and distance/auric grid sessions.

In my experience, I have found that crystal healing is effective in:
* promoting deep relaxation
* encouraging detoxification
* accelerating healing by supporting the body’s natural ability to heal
* moving and clearing energy blocks in the physical and auric energy fields
* opening the self to new levels of awareness and spiritual growth

When a client comes to my office for a crystal healing session, I will place crystals on specific areas of the body called chakras, the energy centers of the body and subtle bodies. Each center is associated with a unique vibration, sound, and color. The same color crystals as the color of the chakras are laid upon the body to enhance the flow of energy. Complementary colors are sometimes used to balance the energy or to direct the flow of energy to a particular part of the body. Others can be used to clear negative energy fields before they manifest as physical illness. The energies of specific crystals might be purifying, calming, energizing, grounding or uplifting.

'Tis the Season! The season of lights and the season of stress. And because crystal therapy promotes peace and tranquility and reduces mental and nervous stress, my appointment book is filling fast.

But even if you cannot schedule an appointment with me, you can enjoy the benefits of crystal healing in your own bath or shower reach day. I currently have over a dozen aromatherapy inspired, spa quality soaps which have been carefully formulated to balance and restore you when you need it most. The effects are powerful, and cumulative. Olive, soy, and essential oils pamper your skin. And, these soaps smell Divine!

I've blended gemstone and botanical synergies to use both in healing baths and in your morning shower. Bathing with gemstone essences not only revitalizes you, but also helps in cleansing toxins from your body, can help release emotions and energize your total being. I also have formulated gemstone oils which can be poured into the bath or used with a diffuser, as well as a nice selection of bokek salts with gemstone essences.

One of my favorite blends to restore balance, calm emotions and increase awareness is the Lilac, Lapis and Luvilite soap. Lilac is historicaly known as the flower of love and purification. The scent of fresh lilac flowers alone is an effective stress reliever. Paired with Lapis Lazuli and Luvulite which boosts intuition, awareness, objectivity, clarity, creativity, and serenity, you've got the perfect antidode to holiday stress in a bar of soap. It's true!

May you be blessed!

The color of joy!

Lately, I've been drawn to oranges. Not only to the fruit, but the color: pumpkin, carnelian, marigold. I've been wearing it and eating it, aware of my attraction to orange and appreciating it's energy.

The truth is that I 've been on a joyride!

I've been on a happiness bender! I admit it, and I must have needed it... I have been working a lot, lately. And so, I will make no apologies for my mango-colored pedicure, coral lipstick and crystal vases filled with Chrysanthemums. I've made pumpkin curried soup, and squash pie, and cinnamon carrots. I may have purchased a few too many gourds to decorate this fall ... and yes, I've got an ornage cinnamon candle burning on my desk right now!

The ancients knew that colors can dramatically affect our health, inner harmony and our emotions. Western medicine is beginning to embrace the color and light therapies which alternative practitioners have employed through chakra balacing and crystal healing, and luxury spas offer in mood lighting and color baths.

I intuit color as a living energy, light, an electromagnetic energy produced by the sun in different wavelengths. As the light is absorbed and reflected we experience different colors. The length of a wave defines its color, and how it resonates in our own biodynamic systems. Like other vibrational therapies including aromatherapy, and music, color effects our bodies, minds, emotions and spirits.

A very basic guideline to using color therapies for wellness follows:

Red stimulates brain wave activity, increases heart rate, respirations and blood pressure, excites sexual glands. It energizes the first chakra (coccyx). It warms us and awakens us physically and energizes our blood. It is a good color to wear when we have colds and poor circulation. Too much red can over stimulate and make some illnesses worse. High blood pressure is an indicator of too much red energy in the body. It is a color for war, prosperity, fire, and rising sun. Spiritually it is the root color of fire and connects us to our physical self.

Orange is the color of joy and wisdom. It affects the second chakra (sacral). It gives an energy, stimulates appetite and it is a good color for illnesses of the colon and digestion. Spiritually it is the color of joy. It connects us to our emotional self.

Yellow is the solar plexus chakra. It energizes, relieves depression, improves memory, stimulates appetite and helps in digestive problems. Spiritually it is the color of wisdom and connects us to our mental self.

Green affects the heart chakra. It has a calming effect and balances the nervous system. Green color is soothing, relaxing mentally as well as physically, helps those suffering from depression, anxiety, nervousness. It is a good color for cardiac conditions, high blood pressure and ulcers. Since green stimulates growth, it should be avoided in cancers and other tumors. Spiritually it is the color of love and connects us to perfect love.

Blue is the color for the throat chakra. It is a good color in respiratory illness or throat infections. Blue is calming and cooling to our system and hence, a good color to counteract hypertension. Spiritually it is the color of health and connects us to holistic thought.

Indigo is the color for healing of the brow chakra. It is a good color for sinusitis, immunity problems, and all face problems. Too much of this color can cause depression. Spiritually it is the color of intuition and connects us to our unconscious self.

Violet is the color of the crown chakra. It is cleansing, strengthening, and awakening, suppresses appetite, provides a peaceful environment. It affects the skeletal system of the body. It is a good color for improving immunity, cancerous conditions, and arthritis. It also purifies the system and is an excellent color for headaches and migrains. Spiritually it is the color of faith and connects us to our spiritual self.

And so, with this understanding I will indulge my senses with all things orange 'til I am filled. I trust myself to know what I need, even if its just a new shade of lipstick, a bumpy gourd, or a glass of fresh squeezed juice. I am feeling playful and enthusiastic, and very creative...

I think I'll make a peach cobbler!

May you be blessed!

Finding Your Place in the Universe

The ancients of all races sang and spoke of days gone by when all life existed harmoniously in love, light and peace. Myths and truths alike tell of a place where war, pestilence and disease were unknown, and man was in constant communion with the Divine. And today, throughout the world, many religious, spiritual, and metaphysically-aware people believe they are readying for another such experience, right now on Earth.

Scholars of science and religion, physics, and prophesy note that energies of change are already among us, noting particularly the disharmony and failures in relationships, governments, health, justice, education and religion. Look at the recent breakdown of global financial institutions, the advent of new forms of disease, and unprecedented weather patterns, and you may be inclined to agree. And, many agree that there is more to come as 3-D illusions are transformed into spiritual reality, all in divine order. The Universe, the living Earth, and our own Higher Selves are working in concert to ready this planet for ascension into the higher realms of consciousness known as the fourth and fifth dimensions. But please understand, ascension is not a time of doom and gloom! Ascension is about finding and claiming our place, as conscious and creative beings of love and light, in the unfolding Universe.

Metaphysical is defined as “beyond the physical or beyond physics, dealing with the nature of being." Metaphysical study deals with the exploration of what reality truly is. It suggests challenging and alternate ideas about reality than those generally held by the unaware. Metaphysics is a spiritual philosophy of life. I think it can more accurately be defined as a spiritual exploration, which focuses on discovering who you truly are – that is an eternal soul having a human experience. There need be no conflict with religious belief, an awareness of metaphysics simply allows you to expand your religious beliefs to grow and encompass more of what your soul is all about.

Metaphysics embraces and respects all religions and belief systems and is based on the underlying common belief inherent in all religions, which is that there is indeed a greater power than us. This conflict between religion, politics, relationships, the stress of physical life and the inner truth that is part of each human soul is where metaphysical counseling can be beneficial. As we enter the Photon Belt, we are entering into a very exciting time of spiritual transformation and evolutionary changes in human consciousness, just as we intended. We are waking up to our true nature as multi-dimensional beings. (You can google the words ascension and photon belt if you wish to explore these concepts in greater depth.)

All humans incarnated now into the third dimensional realm of Earth have done so to experience ascension into the higher realms of consciousness known as the fourth and fifth dimensions. We're learning to embrace transformation, rather than fear change.

It has been written that graduation from the third dimension to the fourth and fifth dimensions is quite simple if we follow the teachings of the Masters: walk and talk your life in love and forgiveness, and acknowledge and give gratitude to the Creator, Infinite Intelligence, the Mother/Father God of your perception. And, divest yourself of fear, for fear is food for the forces of darkness and it will continue to hold you captive if you do not. Unfortunately, in modern society, with so much indifference, poverty, disease, genocide, war, prejudice, crime and man’s inhumanity to man, it is not surprising that so many people doubt the existence of any Mother/Father God, and fear that survival of the fittest is the only reality.

So, as we get nearer and nearer to the Photon Belt and the incoming Christ Consciousness, our bodies, minds, and spirits will undergo major transformational changes. What is reality anyway? Practicing love and forgiveness, ceasing to judge, and eliminating fear are keys for finding out.

If you are feeling that it is time to reconnect with your spirit and bring yourself into alignment with your soul’s purpose, you are readying for these very evolutionary changes in your own consciousness. I offer a variety of metaphysical counseling services to support spiritual growth, knowledge, and the advancement that your soul incarnated into this physical world to experience.

It is my prayer that you feel encouraged and nurtured as you discover your own spiritual awareness and the growth that this awareness promotes. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about Metaphysical Counseling, Integrated Spiritual Healing, and the holistic wellness services that I offer. Through these offerings I claim my own place as a conscious and creative being of love and light in the unfolding Universe. May you also be blessed in fulfilling your soul's purpose.

I look forward to opening my heart as a channel for awakening, growth and healing in your life.

Namaste,
Susan Berry

Bathing in Blessings: Compassion

In this Sunday morning series, "Bathing in Blessings," I am sharing powerful formulas that combine energies of minerals, herbs, and essential oils that you can use to make wonderful elixirs. For basic directions on how to make and use synergistic elixirs, please refer to the blog archives (right) and read the blog posted on Sunday, December 28, 2008, "Bathing in Blessings Lesson One: Forgiveness."

Today we're going to create an elixir which stablizes and integrates issues around compassion. The heart is where we give and receive love and compassion. The heart chakra is the home of these emotions, these attributes that connect us all. We are born of unconditional love, in unconditional love, and as unconditional love. We are love. We are light. We are the embodiment of compassion, although we do not always exercise compassion. And unfortunately, we do not always exercise unconditional love towards ourselves and others.

“If you don't love yourself, you cannot love others. You will not be able to love others. If you have no compassion for yourself then you are not able of developing compassion for others.” -Dalai Lama

If we are not fully exercising these innate gifts of love and compassion, is because we have shut ourselves off from them for some reason. Life's traumas, trials and tribulations can cause us to shut down. However, we must remember that in order to not be defeated by the adversity of life, we must always stay open, love, and share compassion with ourselves and with others. When you feel unconditional love towards yourself and others, when you are compassionate towards yourself and others, and when you are able to be forgiving towards yourself and others, you will notice a difference in the types of relationships you have in your life. Using theis elixir will help you to make better choices when it comes to matters of the heart.

We'll begin with Rose essential oil. The rose symbolizes innocence, love, passion, sympathy, desire, luxury and the ideal aesthetic. The healing tradition associated with the rose is no less remarkable than its fragrance and beauty. It was the 17th-century English physician Culpeper who wrote that roses strengthen the heart. He may have been referring to a physical action, but anyone who has inhaled fresh roses or their essential oil knows the aroma strengthens the heart spiritually and emotionally as well. Culpeper attributed other properties to the rose that foreshadowed its current use in aromatherapy and cosmetics. He recommended extract of rose for its cooling and astringent benefits, useful for headache and tired eyes.

Besides being used as a medicine in history, the rose has a long history as a costly perfume. Fresh roses were macerated in hot fat to produce fragrant pomades in ancient India, Greece and Egypt. In Egypt these pomades were shaped into cones and placed on the top of the head. As body heat melted the fat, fragrant, rose-scented oil would trickle down the face and neck.

With the advent of distillation in the 10th century, Persians began extracting rose flower water from fresh roses. An early reference to rose essential oil is mentioned in a legendary Mogul account of the betrothal of a princess named Nour-Djihan to the Emperor Dhihanguyr. The wedding feast was held in a garden surrounded by a canal filled with rose water. As Nour-Djihan and her lover plied the waters in a small boat she noticed a thin film of rose oil on the surface. It was carefully skimmed off and rose essential oil was born.

The difficulty of extracting rose oil from the plant has always caused it to be a very expensive substance. A rose blossom contains only about 0.02% essential oil. It takes about 60,000 roses to produce just 1 ounce of oil, and ten thousand pounds of rose blossoms to produce 1 pound of oil. The best oil is distilled from newly opened flowers, picked in the cool morning hours before the sun has warmed away the aroma.

Aventurine holds the vibration of compassion. Aventurine assists us in perceiving our own life dance, or the dance of others, from the foundation of compassion which understands from inside the human experience all dances, and in so understanding forgives and embraces all others in love regardless of circumstance. Known as the "comfort crystal," aventurine has the capacity to calm a troubled spirit and bring about inner peace. Immerse a piece of adventurine directly in the oil, and set the oil in the center of an aventurine grid.

Chamomile assists in opening the heart and processing the pain inherent in ascension to a biological level. Chamomile will bring comfort in our deepest moments of seeming darkness that we are transcending. In biology, pain is associated with toxic substances one is releasing. Chamomile will attach to such substances and assist them in being removed through the waste management systems.

Chamomile is a good tonic herb to have daily if desired. An infusion, made from 1 oz. of the flowers to 1 pint of boiling water, known popularly as Chamomile Tea, is an old-fashioned but extremely efficacious remedy for stress. It has a wonderfully soothing, sedative ,and absolutely harmless effect.

Place dried Chamomile buds in the gemstone infusion. This powerful oil is wonderful to use in the bath or at the heart chakra so do save some to use in this form.

“Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them.” -Dalai Lama

Blessings to you on your path!
