Divine Mother: A Meditation for the Spring Equinox
The Spring Equinox is the beginning of a astrological New Year when the sun enters the sign of Aries and begins a 12-month cycle around the wheel of life. It is a time when day and night are balanced, lending support from the universe and Mother Earth, to begin again in a state of perfected harmony. It is a time to create and bring form to your dreams and rejoice in birth and life.
Today, Sunday, March 20th, 2011 is the Spring Equinox this year. Throughout the year there are periods of time and windows of power that we can harness to power the changes in our lives that we are setting out to accomplish. In this moment we are watching a world out balance attempting to return to harmony. We are witnessing a rebirth.
The Goddess, the Divine Mother, is returning to our collective consciousness to guide us through the changes. She is Kwan Yin, Isis, Mary, Oshun, Lakshmi. She is You. The Divine Mother abides in the heart of every being, as the divine creatrix who has manifested multiple forms of consciousness as an adoration for Her beloved, the eternal formless Supreme Being - God the Father. In truth these two timeless lovers are not two rather, they are inseparably bound to play out their cosmic dance of love for all eternity.
I hope that you will take a moment to enjoy this beautiful Heart Meditation, "Light of Presence – Mother Divine." Today, open your heart and receive the aspect of the Divine which is known as Mother. Where there is love, compassion and mercy, see Her direct presence, always the present moment, always in service, in you.

Peace... a breath and a choice
Recently I connected with an old friend who asked me what I was teaching these days. She had done Reiki classes with me in the 90's and attended workshops on crystal healing, aromatherapy, astrology, meditation, macrobiotic cooking, yoga, chi gong, and feng shui which I facilitated for many years through Enviro-arts, a brick and mortar version of Oshun Spirit Earth Friendly Goods.I thought for a moment. What AM I teaching these days? I know there is the collective energy of all of these past disciplines in the foundation of my work, but I'm no longer terribly concerned with complex Sacred Geometry and Matrixes for Ascension and Zero Point Creation, or even applied Universal Law... it is much simpler than even THAT now.
"Spiritual Empowerment" is a cool phrase, and a starting point which combines the essence of all of these practices. I offer interactive healing sessions with the intention of increasing your connection to your own inner knowing, your Spirit or Higher Self. I believe that by understanding and honoring your own intuitive processes, you can transform all energies in your life (even the ones you currently label as negative) into creativity, hope, joy and peace. In creating a perfect higher heart/mind alignment with the needs of your Spirit, your life can work in a simply perfect way.
Alternatively, The Law of Attraction illustrates that what you send out to the Universe (an intelligent, creative, all giving entity that only wants the best for you) is what you get back. You ask for what you want, you wait with faith and eventually you take your seat at the table of abundance which was set for you awaiting your arrival. But there are a few missing pieces in this theory... (another blog, another day).
But true "Spiritual Empowerment" is even simpler than that. It is a breath and a choice. It is Free Will in a perfect alignment with the needs of your Spirit initiated through one breath that seals the deal. Yes, one breath. But the mind and heart must work together, and that can take some practice. But it's not about asking for anything or waiting for it. It's about being in the present, holding a vision, and taking a breath, and feeling how it felt. Did it feel good, peaceful, loving? OK keep going. Not so good? Make another choice. You didn't make a mistake. You didn't do it wrong. Just take another breath.
The painful and limiting emotions inside of us (usually found in the past or projected onto the future) that keep us from heart-thinking and the ability to empower our lives can actually be released in one moment, with the choice not to breathe life into them ever again. You just need to be fearless in your commitment to the process of arriving at that choice. Peace, joy, love, courage and all the good stuff within our hearts don't have a prayer to find expression if painful emotions smother and repress them. We know that to truly empower our lives, we must face and release experiences of fear and enter them into expressions of love. But the experience of love can be difficult to obtain when there is no peace in our heart.
"I teach peace."
"OK, Gandhi," she laughed.
"No," I said, "I just realized that it's really that simple. I just raise the possibility that peace is an option. Then everything else just falls into place."
If you say to yourself, ‘I choose peace’ a hundred million times a day (well, every time you make a choice), and take a few seconds to breathe into that choice, eventually the presence of peace will enter your consciousness and make a nest. Those limiting emotions that restrict our highest being will be replaced by the higher magnetics of a new energetic momentum which will allow and welcome the experience of peace to enter your work, relationships, body, image, and soul.
With the presence of peace within your heart and mind, you simply make choices that will continue to empower your life in the direction of your dreams. That is true Spiritual Empowerment. And Peace on Earth, Goodwill to All.

Finding Balance and Comfort in the Process of Awakening
I am currently offering readings and etheric healing sessions especially for those of you who have begun to manifest difficult lightbody symptoms and want to manage these symptoms and changes in your bodies through a holistic integration and healing process. This body of work combines spirit guided healing with tachyon gridding. Tachyon grids unify all frequencies through sacred geometry and the zero point creation matrix. This tool, in concert with my ability as a clear channel for healing energies and information, offers a unique opportunity to ease some of the anxieties around the rapid evolutionary processes many of you are experiencing. All of you who are currently experiencing the Awakening and/or Ascension process intuitively know that any discomfort, and side effect symptoms are simply catalysts to your remembering of the truth of who you are and why you are here, now. My intention is to assist you in developing a framework which will align your heart and mind to your spiritual comprehension of your multi-dimensionality, and allow you to work through and clear these symptoms with greater ease.
My function is to hold the space with the highest intention of healing, support and surrender to what shows up as the clearest expression from Your Highest Self. I will act as a spiritual guide to bring clarity to the aspect of your soul purpose and what is being moved through in your evolution process. I cannot predict all that will unfold within the session or define the topics of each session until I explore them with you during our time together. But I do know, beyond any doubt, that I will be able to channel the information and energetic frequencies your higher self chooses to assist your mastery of your challenges at hand, and ease you through the transformation which is causing your discomfort.
It is my intention that you may experience the deep peace and great joy of life in the higher realms, even as your Ascension Process unfolds.
This package includes a 30-minute interactive session by telephone immediately followed by a healing transmission, and a follow-up integration call a few days later. You should allow at least 90 minutes on the day of your appointment, with about 10 minutes prior to the call set aside for meditation and so I may make a connection with you, about 30 minutes for conversation, and the remainder of the time relaxing and receiving the transmissions.
Our follow up conversation by telephone (approx. 48 - 72 hours later, and no earlier) will be 10 - 15 minutes in duration. Discussion, since it is an intellectual activity, often has the effect of diluting the power of spiritual healing. Sometimes, by talking about things we define and limit what is actually non-linear and limitless! I believe that it is necessary to be in the mystery for a while... and to respect that which has unfolded in the realm of Spirit and give the process a chance to manifest miracles in the physical without our mental and emotional preconceptions altering the natural courses.
I think that to be spiritually centered in the process of Ascension is also to have a holy respect for the great mysteries of life — the yearning in our souls to experience love in its many forms, the strange beauty of the natural world, the complexity of our inner selves, the unfathomable creativity of Source.
Just as the wisdom traditions have challenged us to live within the grace of unknowing, our Creator has provided us with the ability to tap into comfort through faith, and finally, now, through direct communication. We are awakening to our own Divinity and Light, Deep Peace and Great Joy.

Patience
"I'm stuck."
Well, maybe you are. But maybe you are just gathering up energy for your big push forward and the ultimate expression of your beautiful self! If you use the metaphor of a butterfly cocooning, and seemingly "doing nothing" from the outside, we know there is tremendous inner work going on prior to the outward, visible, new and amazing creature. So, what if instead of feeling like you are being trapped in a life full of excuses, blocks and frustration, you feel excited that you’re actually in the process of gathering up the drive and commitment to create a life that you can really love...
Quite a shift!
Each of us is born with tremendous potential, but it becomes buried beneath self-defeating beliefs and behaviors rooted in childhood and/or trauma from past lives, and as we keep perpetuating the doubt and fear in our adult lives, we begin to believe we have exhausted all our potential, and we settle for less than we can be, sadly.
But, I think we're ALWAYS working from the inside out, whether we are conscious of it or not. I believe that we are constantly transforming our experiences into inspiration and ablilities which we can later harness to live the life in which our innate potentiality is liberated, and become free to realize our greatest dreams.
So, if you feel stuck, give yourself a break. Something in you is moving forward, I promise. Ideas are beginning to crystalize, your energy is building, your spirit is waking up. If you have dreams you want to achieve but feel immobilized to pursue them, then become aware of the self-defeating patterns that keep you stuck and thank them. And have a little patience.
Yes, I said thank them. Offer up some gratitude to the old patterns, because they got you here, to this moment. By design, your life has set up the very conditions that make you ripe for transformation.
If you’re physically exhausted, in a depleting job, or not taking good care of yourself, that's going to diminish some of the energy you need to move forward. So, please think about how you’re treating your body and spirit and figure out what you need to do differently to generate the energy needed actually move in the world, in your body, to create the life you want. Make healthy choices about what you eat and drink, about exercise and sleep, about all the energy you take in to your system including chi from your environment, the people that surround you, your relationships and associations, as well as that which is self generated and ultimately cycled through your subtle bodies.
Maybe you're telling yourself you’re not good enough, and maybe that's an old pattern that you've fallen into and you've even attracted people and situations into your life to reinforce those ideas. Say thank you to all those people and events, and the commitments they entail and move on. Just do it and don't apologize. If you’re defeating your purposes by participating in dramas that erode your self-esteem that will certainly challenge your vision of an enjoyable, inspiring, and fulfilling life of abundance and joy. If you continually participate in relationships that make you feel bad or judgmental about yourself, then make a conscious decision not to stay in those kinds of relationships and leave. Surround yourself with people, places, and ideas which reinforce your positive self image and champion your transformation. You deserve nothing less.
By choosing not to participate in unhealthy relationships, dialogues, and dramas (of all kinds), you’ll not only change the quality of your life, but you’ll also free up the energy consumed by conflict to create and live the life you want to have. And, you'll be free to fly!

Are you waiting for a miracle?
And when you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are one."
I am one of those people that finds meaning in every single person and thing that comes across my radar each day. I believe that synchronistic events are the universe’s playful way of giving me a message, a sign, or a point in the right direction. I place the value of “message for the purposes of learning and growth” on the signs, songs, and conversations I experience. I believe there are no coincidences in life, and I do try to be truly conscious of every single moment of every single day. I believe there is a greater purpose and meaning to all things.
The intricate patterns of the natural world and the elegant dances of the stars and planets are evidence that some sort of miracle is taking place continuously in the very existence of the Cosmos. It's proof that we live in a universe of miracles. The Source of miracles is always present. But if this is so, why aren't we experiencing miracles on a moment to moment basis?
I think that the reason is that most of us simply won't allow it.
Stay with me for a moment. A miracle might not fit comfortably with our preconceived ideas of how our lives should operate. A miracle could upset our identity, make us rethink our world, show us that our enemies were actually our teachers, and generally make a mess of our view of how life works. Our deliberate unbelief can keep miraculous happenings away from our lives, so that we may be able to predict with a fair degree of certainty that tomorrow will be pretty much like today and so that we may take comfort in this predictability...
"Learn to be comfortable with your discomfort. Learn to rest in the riddle of not knowing." I say this to my clients all the time. And I know that its really hard to let go of our inner control freak. But I also know that within our heart of hearts, we know how little it would really take to just let go and allow life to happen even though we may not dare.
The letting go that opens us up to miracles is simply a letting go of the illusions of our control, the outworn ideas and past experiences which created barriers, and the acceptance of a higher reality which flows and creates unity. When we allow our personal beliefs to operate in accordance with the naturally miraculous nature of the Universe, these miracles slip into our lives, our relationships, our hearts – and enhance them. Accepting that miracles are part of life and that our lives are supposed to be aligned with the perfect synchronicity of the universe makes room for them to occur. The effort to believe that we are somehow separate from the rest of the flow of life is part of what keeps the experience from expressing through us.
We each have opportunities to become channels for miracles every single day if we choose to be aware of those opportunities presenting. Instead of reacting to other people's stuff, we can stay in our own energy but extend a supportive loving hand, setting an example of peace and serenity. And if we change our perspective on things, and become compassionate to others, and know we have the ability to make a difference with our conscious choices, and words...
We are each messengers. We all have the ability to say to another exactly what it is that they most need, and just when they need to hear it, to act as a sign, or a point in the right direction for the purposes of learning and growth. In the Oneness of all life, we are all connected with one another to be miracles for each other. So tune your heart, your compassion and your consciousness to the possibilities of synchronicity, and your words will be as healing and profound as if they sprang from the lips of a sage, or a saint, or a wise teacher. You may find that you are the miracle someone was waiting for.

I got a new IPAD for Christmas... a true story
I had this dream last night: My new Ipad had an app that allowed me to dress a "consciousness" in anything I wanted, like a paperdoll but 3D or actually 4D, and so I spent time with it (her) and then I chose physical attributes so she looked like a princess fairy.
The energy was lovely. I loved her.
She said to me, "thank you but I am not very well suited for your world." So I found these these sharp plastic "legos" that snapped together and had gears and armor and I put them on her and she said, "OK, I'm ready to go."
And then I asked her if she really liked that and she said it was OK except she couldn't raise her arms all the way up and it hurt to talk, something was poking in her mouth. So I took it all off and I said, "just take your chances," and she flew off.
I wasn't afraid for her at all.
I've been thinking about this all day.
Ipads are so much more than they seem, yes?

One Good Thing: Laughlines!
FYI, as we grow older, small crinkles WILL eventually appear around our eyes. It will happen to you, too. Has it already? Is it time for Botox? The knife? Big black Jackie-O glasses?
Breathe. To me they are a map tracing back thru time to the joys of my life. Some call them wrinkles, or crows feet, but I know that they are laugh lines, time lines, moments of clarity and wisdom that erupted in a chuckle and perhaps even bit of spittle and snort!
The prevention and treatment of crows feet and wrinkles is a bazilliongazillion dollar business... but I'm going to have to treat them because I simply cannot prevent them!
I behave badly, wildly and I cannot contain myself sometimes.
Wrinkle Experts warn to avoid sun exposure, but I have two beaches on my property for a reason... I'm a sunny girl! I wear sunscreen to prevent burning and sunglasses to prevent squinting, but I love to be outdoors all day on the lake, in summer and winter, spring and fall, and I love to laugh!
I might even consider Botox or laser resurfacing treatments before I give up enjoying Bob Marley and a frosty Magarita with friends under the blazing summer sun, or the laughing that accompanies bad golf, tipped kayaks, snowboarding in Tshirts, or big, wet dogs around ladies in brand new designer weekend wear.
Actually, I do use acupuncture to reduce stress (also called a needle facelift) and and the result is a regenerated, fresh face... clusters of tiny needles placed into the skin around my eyes, on my neck, and shoulders are a small inconvenience for the joy of driving with the top down from April to October.
But embracing the crinkles is like looking back in time, like an album of sorts, of wisdom and joy. These lines affirm that I can see that I am more than capable of embracing my life experiences from a powerful place of learning and growth... and a smile.
Some of the lines I really like were born when I discovered
- that I like hot sauce on my eggs
- that I’m an empath
- that even though I am a mother, I actually DON’T know everything, and probably never will
- how to love myself
- that not everybody’s problem is necessarily mine
- that I have the choice to do anything I want
- that I am not forever young, but by growing older I become wiser and there fore more beautiful
- that I can say no and mean it
- that I can say yes and enjoy it
- that those jeans never made me look as fat as I thought I was!

There was a man who wanted to transcend his suffering so he went to a Buddhist temple to find a Master to help him. He went to the Master and asked, "Master, if I meditate four hours a day, how long will it take for me to transcend?"
The Master looked at him and said, "If you meditate four hours a day, perhaps you will transcend in ten years."
Thinking he could do better, the man then said, "Oh, Master, what if I meditate eight hours a day, how long will it take me to transcend?"
The Master looked at him and said, "If you meditate eight hours a day, perhaps you will transcend in twenty years."
"But why will it take me longer if I meditate more?" the man asked.
The Master replied, "You are not here to sacrifice your joy or your life. You are here to live, to be happy, and to love. If you can do your best in two hours of meditation, but spend eight hours instead, you will only grow tired and miss the point; you won't enjoy your life. Do your best, and perhaps you will learn no matter how long you meditate, you can live, love and be happy."

One Good Thing: Yeha-Noha
This song is a gift in my own life, it transports my heart to a time of pure delight and wonder as my boys learned to catch and clean fish, plant a garden, and learn to read scat and other secrets of the forest. It reminds me of driving in the car on the way to the lake, and they knew every word of this song (even though they made some of them up) and would listen to it and sing it over and over for an hour a more, "play it again Mom!" This and the cassettes, "Keepers of the Animals," which are wisdom stories by Joseph Bruchac.
Although I did not know what the words (especially the ones they made up) meant, I did know they stirred something very beautiful in our souls and made a connection for us to something sacred and waiting to be discovered. This one song has the power to bring waves of great joy, and even a happy tear, hearing it again today. It is one good thing. Enjoy!

Creating our new world, one breath at a time...
When I was a little girl, it seemed to me that summer vacation took up half the year, and school time the other half. It felt equal to me. I also remember endless stretches in my 'tween years of, "I'm soooooo bored, hours and days just dragging by." But today, as I recall just this past decade marked by my sons' high school years and subsequent graduations from college, I have no idea how that time whizzed by so quickly!
Perhaps we feel an increasing speed in passing time as we grow older because of the higher proportion of time that has been spent...
For example: At five years old, a child feels like she is waiting an extraordinary amount of time in September for Christmas to come in December. The percentage of the child's life between September and December is 7.1%, calculated by dividing the four months of waiting by the five-year-olds' 56 months of living. For a thirty-year-old adult, the percentage is 1.1 %, based on four months of waiting divided by the thirty-year-old's 356 months of living.
But, there are other factors at work that have quickened time. Most significantly, we are moving to zero point, as described by Gregg Braden in his book, Awakening to Zero Point.
Gregg has traced the Schumann Resonance or heartbeat of the Earth. For decades, it has measured 7.8 cycles per second. In 1980, it started increasing. By 1993, scientists published reports of the Schumann Resonance pulsing at 8.6 cycles per second. Today, it is around 12 cycles per second, hence the feeling of time passing more quickly. At 13 cycles, the Earth will be at a zero point magnetic field, and in two or three days it will start turning in the opposite direction.
This is the "event" predicted by ancient prophets to occur in 2012, when we will be introduced to the next level of consciousness as ordinary reality. Right now, we are "entering the time of no time."
It is interesting to note that the Fibonacci Series of numbers supports the notion of this shift to a new reality via sacred geometry principles. Fibonacci discovered a sequence of numbers that matches the proportions of the human body and the basis for how plants grow, to name a few examples. It goes like this: Start with 1, add 1 to the previous number or 1 to get 2, add 2 to the previous number or 1 to get 3, add 3 to 2 to get 5, add 5 to 3 to get 8 (or 7.8 on the SR scale), add 8 to 5 to get 13. So it's 1, 1+1=2, 2+1=3, 3+2=5, 5+3=8, 8+5=13. Remember, as we near 2012, the SR is nearing 13. Factor in the significance of the Fibonacci Series, which predicts a segueway or transition at 13, and voila: the shift!
But back to the no-time thing... so if we compare the rate of passing time today, for that forty-year-old, to that same person at the age of five, they are living approximately five and a half times faster than they did in childhood. That means that each day equates to five and a half days thirty-five years ago!
And you wonder why you are feeling stressed?
Stress is the typical reaction to the evaporation of time, because we feel synchronous the SR that was occurring during the time we developed in the womb, that particular rate became imprinted on our internal clock, on our circadian rhythm. So we need to retrain our subconscious to accept a new rhythm in order to regain our sense of balance.
The subconscious will pay attention when you interfere with your routine breathing patterns, because it manages this breathing function so you don't have to constantly remind yourself to breathe. It is important to gain the attention of the subconscious, as it is in charge of habits and automatic body responses. It needs to know that you are making a change. Some of my students have been working with various subconscious patterning by breathing deeply six times in a row, using the following pattern: inhale slowly to the count of four, hold to the count of four, exhale slowly to the count of eight.
In reprogramming our response to the passage of time, we set the intention to "update our processing of time sequences to match the current cycles per second occurring on Earth." I will share this mediation that I have been working on to help heal the stresses of our out-of-synch circadian rhythms.
These methods may sound "too easy" but life is not designed to be a "dis-ease." We, and they, are designed to create an exchange of energy between us and the Earth when we are in a meditative state with the least resistance present, the Earth's frequency is able to calibrate with you and, likewise, you with it, thereby creating a better match.
Begin with the interuptive pattern: breathing deeply six times in a row, inhaling slowly to the count of four, holding to the count of four, exhaling slowly to the count of eight. Breathe deeply. As you breathe out, envision your energy entering the Earth. As you breathe in, envision the Earth sending energy to you. I've been doing this while lying on my back under an old strong tree with the crown of my head aligned with the base of her trunk. I visualize our energy surging up the middle of the tree trunk, and feel the tree reciprocate by sending energy through her trunk to us.
But you can sych with any element. Watch water trickle, in a fountain or a brook or even a running faucet. As the water trickles, integrate your energy with the flow of the water. Place your hand in the water and feel the energy infuse you. Feel your energy enter the water and infuse it. Even better, immerse yourself in water, and feel the water support you as you float. Imagine the boundaries being eliminated between your body and the water as you merge into one element of sensation.
This simple meditation will help you to feel yourself get in sync with the current pace and feel less stressed and more present in your daily life. You can enjoy the improved synergy between you and your surroundings as the Earth's heartbeat continues to accelerate and we move into the next world with a sense of Peace.

Wisdom from the Grandmothers: The Way to Peace
Every once in a while someone finds me online, on a selling site, facebook or through google and feels the need to challenge me, chastise me, or save me, via email. I say pick up the phone, come over for tea. Let's have some face time if this is really that important to you. At least, please use your true name in your emails so we can make a real connection.
And while I do appreciate the kind gestures springing from your dogma of choice, name calling, threats of eternal damnation, and warnings that I am running out of time to jump on your (one-and-only) bandwagon don't come across as very loving.... to me.
I have a new fan. And she's been writing to me, warning me, as part of her mission. And while I am a pretty present and grounded girl, I have to admit I find her constant contact unsettling. Yesterday, while reading her email I felt real negativity entering me. She was sending me fire, hate, and unfounded judgement, ignorance and intolerance, and I was allowing her bully-behavior into my sacred space.
I shifted right into the crazy place. I thought about my defense. My "rights." My "right" rights to squash this.
I know about returning unwanted energies, so I stated out loud "These energies are not mine to deal with, please return them to the sender." I phrased it differently in my head at first but regrouped to a kinder, gentler me. And then I added the "please."
I stopped reading and recognized that this was not mine to deal with, these emotions of fear, anger and guilt were not my own, but from the sender. And although I felt calmer in this knowing, I did not feel resolved or balanced. I wondered if there was some better way I could assist the sender. So I sent feelings of love, joy, harmony and peace, and pictured the sender in her highest light.
I know that many people would have reacted to this situation by returning an email, perhaps with as much anger as directed at them, and some of us skilled with words and thoughtforms might have even drawn mightier swords. You, like me, might have even tried (once again) to educate and reason with the sender, but both of these reactions have only added to the energy charge already formed, expressed. They form a line in the sand, between my viewpoints and hers.
When defensive emotions rise within me I try to sense why they are being triggered. I become aware of the first thing or situation that comes to my mind, leading me to realize what needs to be released within me.
Today another email, even more negative (no, that is a judgement... I'll say extremest) than yesterday. She wanted a response. A validation of her "rights" and my wrongs, repentance and conversion, and a surrender of my position. Her sword, drawn in the name... of what?
So I went to my healing room and meditated, surrendered. As I sat quietly I realized that the energies that I had returned in the past by engaging in dialouge, no matter how well-intentioned, had in fact made things worse, by adding defense to the already unstable energy of attack. If I'm not one of the right "them," I am one of the "wrong others." I can only be for them or against them, and if I am not with them then the perception is that I am fighting them. Any defense is seen as an attack. I cannot win. This war.

Chinese Finger Traps as Spiritual Teachers
Recently I won a Chinese Finger Trap (remember those?) at an Autumn Fair. In fact, it was the prize given for coming in last place, for failure. I humbly accepted my booby-prize, and decided I would just give it away to the first child that crossed my path, someone who would have at least some appreciation for the silly thing.
But, I played with it as I walked through the crowds and I had an ah-ha moment. I realized that this simple toy was a profound metaphor for the energy needed to move past fear (and failure) in our lives... and that I could use it in my practice as a wonderful teaching tool. So thank you carnival-guy for giving me the squirtgun with the blocked nozzle, you know the one, the blue one, number thirteen next to the scary, chipped, clown face.
By the way, I didn't even have fun playing your stupid game. I didn't care if I won or lost. I just wanted to get out of there, I wasn't even trying to win. I have a bit of a clown phobia, you know.
"Where there is fear, there is no love. Fear is the opposite of love. What we fear, we attract. Love is letting go of fear." Blah, blah, blah, I've said it and read it one million times. If it were so simple we'd all be leaping for joy with reckless abandon head on to the embrace of the challenges, and clowns, in our lives.
Instead we run away from and deny and avoid that which actually terrifies us, or at least makes us uncomfortable.
Denying our fear is like trying to pull our fingers free from the Chinese finger traps. The more we pull, the tighter they grip our fingers.
The only way to release it is to move toward it, go deeper into it. Then it's able to release. It is the same with fear.
Let's revisit the old addage, "Fear is the opposite of love."
Although love and fear certainly can co-exist side by side within an individual and be experienced simultaneously, just as darkness and light co-exist side by side within all of us, I believe that love and fear cannot co-exist in the same energy space of an individual's emotional body. If we want loving light in that space, we're going to have to get it in there ourselves. We must get into that dark space and bathe it from within with the loving light called self-acceptance, until the fear is all eroded away.
That is the paradox of fear. It negates love, yet will persist until it is loved. What?
The misconception that fear is the opposite of love seems to stem from the fact that fear excludes love. But so do hatred, guilt, anger, shame, jealousy and envy. Therefore, we need a more precise definition of what "opposite" means in reference to love vs. fear.
Where there is no loving light, there is darkness. In that darkness may reside the guilt of not being loving enough, or the fear of not being deserving and good enough. However, darkness is only the absence of light, not its opposite. Unloving light is more commonly known as hate.
Hate, not fear, is the opposite of love. Because, whereas fear and guilt signal the absence of love, hate is the opposite polarity of the exact same energy as love. Love and hate both have consciousness and intent - guided directionality - whereas fear is pretty mindless. Love and hate have focus (something loved or hated), whereas fear may have focus but may also be experienced as unfocused general anxiety, as in "I don't know why I'm afraid... of clowns."
Fear and anger (or terror and rage) are opposite polarities of the exact same energy. They are two sides of the same coin. Where one resides, you can bet the other one does too. Although they rarely surface at the same time.
Fear and anger are the same energy. They serve the same purpose, although from opposite points of view. One of their functions is to assign blame. Anger is the emotion which places the blame with another. " You gave me the squirtgun with the blocked nozzle, you made me stand next to the scary, chipped, clown face. It's your fault I came in last place"
"By the way, I didn't even have fun playing your stupid game."
Fear, however, is the emotion which places the blame with oneself, and that may not be as obvious. But ask yourself why you feel fear of certain things. We feel fear because we are afraid something painful or unpleasant will happen to us. And the reason we expect a hurtful experience is because we consciously or subconsciously believe we are at fault – inadequate, incompetent, awkward, clumsy, laughable, shameful, blameworthy, deserving of punishment, and the list goes on.
If I hadn't angled my body away from the clown I might have had straighter aim....
What We Fear, We Attract!
The Universe has created this phenomenon to help us face and overcome our painful emotions, not to get us to try harder to avoid them. It is a well-known concept that painful emotions contribute to physical unhealth. It has been scientifically confirmed that painful emotions such as fear suppress the immune system and lower the pH of the body, both of which contribute to increased risk of physical illness.Healing truly requires only the state of "no resistance and self acceptance."
So, let's look at three paths to deal with fear:
- By far the most common way to handle fear is that we don't know how, so we do the only thing we can: We feel our fear while disapproving of ourselves for being afraid. In other words, the fear is experienced in a state of non-acceptance. No healing takes place and similar situations continue to come up time and again, evoking the same fear response.
- Some mentally or psychically powerful individuals can keep from feeling spontaneous fear by convincing themselves - their conscious minds - that they are not afraid. This can be a temporarily successful path for a certain category of individuals. Painful emotions are relegated to the subconscious without being healed. As the subconscious' accumulation of unhealed painful emotions grows, the subconscious mind eventually gains more power than the conscious mind's ability to control it, and the "inner demons" begin to seep out.
- The third way is to experience spontaneous fear in a state of self acceptance. Due to varying degrees of childhood conditioning from shame, ridicule, guilt and blame, this path may take a while to master. Any degree of self acceptance we can muster makes a difference. The higher the degree of self acceptance, the faster and easier the healing. The fear is permanently healed and released. We will no longer attract what we used to fear because we no longer fear it.
Bring in the clowns!

Letting in the Light
My voice might have resonated with more conviction, perhaps I spoke more eloquently than the others, I don't know. But what I do know is that I was speaking my truth, from my heart, without fear, for the highest good, and in the bright light of my life's purpose as a teacher/healer.
Censorship is defined as the “suppression of ideas and information that certain persons... find objectionable or dangerous.” It is applied by those vested with an agenda and with the authority to decide what is objectionable and dangerous in a given venue. Of course, the thinking person immediately asks the question, “who are we really protecting via the suppression of ideas?" How can a lack of information and abundance of one-sided information actually assist anyone in mastering an understanding of their choices, behaviors, and their impact in the world?
Repression of speech has historically been a reliable tool in squelching dissent. But today, the cosmic energetic patterns in the Universe which are anchoring on Earth support only light – including the protection of the freedom of expression of that light. Any idea, endeavor, or system which excludes transparency and seeks to manipulate information through fear-based action will not, and simply cannot exist in these patterns.
"Light makes the dark afraid."
I was just a young woman when a Master told me this was the real issue here on Earth. I couldn't grasp it for many years... why would anyone be afraid of light? But experience is a great teacher.
Over the years I have learned to see all darkness (including cruelty, manipulation, arrogance, irresponsible behavior) as an opportunity for me to shine my light in creative, energetic ways should I be called to do so. Because I have the support of a huge global family that is awakening to this energy at this time, I find myself in many opportunities to be of service. Believe me, I don't usually consciously choose to find myself in these situations. I prefer a peaceful, uncomplicated life. Most times I just get plopped into them. It's not always pleasant, but there are always brighter possibilities vying for manifestation and I usually see them.
In visualizing and listening to the possibilities, I can choose to take the position that the projected fear is a beautiful opportunity for understanding. I can choose to lend my voice to light. It matters not if I am passively ignored, applauded, exhaulted, or violently attacked. I'm simply anchoring a creative energy seeking expression through me. Do with it what you will. It's your life, your journey. Your choice, your lesson. I'm just a channel, one of many.
My spirit is having a rich human experience that includes integrating light and dark. It includes sadness, disappointment, and the need for great patience. But it also includes the magic of finding the beauty in the darkness! Humans in general try to avoid sadness, difficulties, and dark energies. But as an artist and observer, I can appreciate that most of the beauty I see comes from the shadows hitting light in a certain way. Finding the beauty in the darkness is the perfect metaphor to dissolving the need for duality as a learning tool.
So Light one, if you find yourself in an opportunity to BE light, remember that we have placed ourselves in key positions all over the world to be "there" at the right time with the right energy. The time is right and NOW to look at any darkness for all the beauty that it holds. Look at those restrictions, those negativities, the frustrations, and see them as opportunities to anchor light.
We are here as spirits to integrate a base of experience and that includes light and dark, failure and success, trial and error, courage, and love. But remember, those are only labels that you and I place upon our journeys as we move forward. The parts of this life you will remember eternally are how you found beauty in the darkness, and how you found your part in the world, and how you shared with others. That is the piece I came to do, you came to do, and I tell you now is the time.
Never be afraid to speak up if you find yourself in the spotlight. Bless the darkness for the opportunity. Experience, think, feel, and express yourself from the place of truth. The universe does not define truth as objectionable, dramatic or dangerous.

Wandering on the Reiki path, a Master's musings..
And so for many years I worked with and attuned students to the Traditional Usui Method, in the traditional manner of apprenticeship.
Over the years, I also have had dozens of clients ask me to evaluate their naturally called-on energy for which they prayed or spontaneously attuned to in a healing session, during their yoga practice, in meditation and through "dreaming" – all equally traditional methods!
I have found that usually these grace gifted-energies lack a grounding component and the healer needs to learn to incorporate 3-D practices to sustain the initial impulse which is spiritual. After a course of study in nutrition, exercise, self-love and gratitude, I find these are very powerful gifts indeed. Sometimes the energy feels like Reiki, but often it is a higher frequency. And its getting higher and higher!
These energies have always been around in small doses, usually without a name and usually employed only by those with a very high spiritual calling, the ancient shaman, the high priestess, or the reclusive poet in the garden surrounded by birds and butterflies, the chosen child mute and blind.
Which brings me to the reason for this blog post:
Each week I receive requests to attune online clients to Reiki. And although there are many Reiki Master teachers offering this service, I have chosen not to go this route. The reason is very simple. I would rather that my students/clients become their own Masters. Over time. Of their own abilities. With spiritual practice and dedication to the path.
I am happy to offer services and products to help facilitate your practice, I am happy to teach metaphysics and consult, but I am no longer interested in being anyone's Master but my own.
Mikao Usui called in "Reiki" energy after many years of spiritual training, while he was in the process of a 3 week spiritual fast on a well known mountain power spot. During the years I ran a Holistic Youth Center I worked with young students (Indigo and Crystal children, many diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Aspergers and mild Autism) who were able to duplicate the Reiki frequency once they experienced it (it's like people who can repeat music after hearing it once). And in each case, these students have found their ability to do energy healing on themselves and others substantially increased after leaving behind the study of symbols and hand positions and dedicating themselves to the task of "climbing up to their own unique mountain power spot", that path that can only be discovered through dedication, sacrifice and service... and that in most cases that climb relieved the symptoms of their diagnoses. But that's another blog post all together (or is it?)!
Hmmmm...
I think in closing, it's enough to say that there are powerful healing and enlightening energies available now that can be acquired and accessed by you, just like Mikao Usui and others have accessed Reiki energy, and their unique personal gifts. If you want them, you can have them. Those very healing energies you need... they are available to you. And, if you want to Master them, you can do that too. And you won't even have to pay $39.95! You won't have a manual, but that's a good thing. Because everybody's instructions are different. Everybody's path is unique.
And you only get the directions one way: by listening for Spirit's whispers. It's time to get that straight.
I invite you to open yourself to access these higher forms of energy by inviting in your Higher Self, your Spirit Guides, or Angels and asking them bring in the energy that is right for you today, at your current level of understanding and evolution, for your dis-ease, for your well-being. As these beings are pure love and light, they will act as gatekeepers for you, ensuring that only beneficial energy comes to you. Learn to work with this energy, play with it, create with it: cook, garden, paint, weave, touch! Grow, become, manifest something with it.
Then ask again. And again. Do it again, and again.
No, I won't be offering Reiki attunements online anytime soon.

Meditations on the Dark Goddess, Divine Mother, in Troubled Times
Over the last decade or so, I have come to understand the Divine Mother as the divine Creatrix who has manifested loving forms of consciousness as an adoration for Her beloved, the eternal formless Supreme Being - God the Father, timeless lovers who are not two, but inseparably bound to model the cosmic and eternal dance of ONE LOVE. She is that aspect of the Divine which is accessible by Her direct presence. She calls me to call to you, now.
Although forms of the Goddess are countless, there is only one Divine Mother or Sacred Feminine behind them all. Ultimately the Mother is pure formless Love. I believe that by pursuing and practicing love for the Mother in any and all of Her forms, we will arrive at the non-dual perspective which will ultimately lift humanity out of the veils of illusion and suffering. Years ago I prayed for the key, and it was given quite readily. It is through the Divine Mother that we may access the Mind of God, command Zero-point energy, and create Heaven on Earth.
All cultures have seen the Supreme Being in female form. Hindu and Buddhist cultures petition many forms of the Divine Mother. In the Islamic tradition Allah has two principle names - Rahman and Rahim which mean Compassionate and Merciful. Both of these names are derived from the root Arabic word meaning "womb". Mahayana Buddhism recognizes the Mother as Prajnaparamita, the boundless Mother of all Buddhas. The early Gnostic Christians the Virgin Sophia who is the feminine embodiment of Wisdom. The Chinese, Kwan Yin the Goddess of Mercy. In orthodox Judaism there is the Sabbath Queen and the feminine Shekinah. The mystical Jewish Kabbalah maintains that out of the Absolute emanated the three Mothers or primal elements, out of which emanated three Fathers which were primordial or spiritual air, water and fire from which came the planets and their angels. Some hold that in the Christian Holy Trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit is the feminine principle. Mother Mary, the virgin mother of Jesus, continues the presence of the Divine Mother in modern Christianity.
Although She is only One, She appears in many forms as many goddesses. Each goddess emphasizes an attribute of the one Divine Mother. As our own earthly birth mother feeds us we might call Her "Food Mother", when consoling us She is "Compassion Mother", when She runs from the house with fire in Her eyes to save us from the neighborhood bully She is "Warrior Mother." She has something for all of Her children when they need it most.
The Goddess resides in the depths of sea, in virgin forests, upon mountain tops, and in the cycles of life, days, and seasons. But I believe we we also must find the Goddess in the urban sprawl, through mindful living, and in the hearts of our children bringing us hope for the future, and returning us to our most ancient human roots as co-creators on Earth. She is a wellspring of love, compassion, and mercy when you need it most. When humanity needs YOU most.
In May 1998, the Black Madonna came to me in several dreams just prior to the Cyclone Nargis disaster. Again this May, in the midst of volcano eruption, earthquake and oilspill, I had a similar sense of forboding and felt an urgency to work again with our Dark Mother. She is the one of the triple aspects of the Goddess who begs understanding from many perspectives as we spiral through our lives and gain experience.
Our insatiable need for the beauty of youth, with our collective fear of aging, and death, in fact endings of all sorts has kept us from her wisdom in the recent past.
But endings always lead to new beginnings.
In every transition from any dependency – be it on a toxic relationship, a toxic substance, our military might, foreign oil, or expensive beauty treatments – whatever our addiction – she does represent death, but we must remember that with death always comes rebirth. With her help, we are able to fight any addictions to fear that hold us back, keep us afraid, keep us apart, us... and them. Once we are ready to be reborn into oneness and compassion, she will guide us once again into the light. The most all-inclusive aspect of the Dark Mother is the power to transform things with creativity.

I have had this poem tucked away for many years. I do not know the author, but I would like to share it with you today.
Who is the Dark Goddess?
Who is this Terrible Death?
She is the dark one... the one who brings death and disease. The one we put out of our minds with a disquieted shrug. The one we frighten our children with... the one we cannot name.
And yet the Dark Goddess is not to be feared; she is to be faced. She is the strength you feel when you take control of your life, She is the anger you taste when you know you deserve better than this. She brings rest to the tired, she draws the hot bath water at the end of the long, dusty journey. No, she is not evil.
When pain beyond all tolerance comes, she is the bringer of peace. When the unthinkable happens, she is there with open arms, comforting and soothing the wounds. When life has gone on too long, and friends are all gone, she is there to take us home. She is not unfeeling.
But she is not a coddling mother, either. She expects us to be strong. She expects us to take ownership for our lives... she expects us to be able to stand; alone if necessary. And when the test comes, she expects us to be able to look in Her eyes.
Without Darkness, there can be no Light.
The Dark Mother can be feared only as long as we fear ourselves. We cannot fear something we are truly prepared for. We cannot fear that which is laid bare and plain before us. We may fear our instincts, but we cannot fear our true selves.
She is not be twisted to satisfy inner fears. She is not the reason you lash out because you hurt. She is not the one who wrenches you with guilt. She is not the one who gives up just before the unseen moment of victory.
She is the cold wind that hows through the cracks in your door. She is the darkness that seeps into your bones before dawn. She is the lonely scream on the battelfield where the dead lay silently. She is the gossamer caress of death when the time has come at last. She is the one who dares you to Stand, with hair flying in the wind and the flames burning around you.
And She is beautiful.
And so are you!

Yoda Wisdom Uncensored

Bonanzle management felt the need to dis-emvowel this tidbit of wisdom in their forum today lest someone have an aha moment in the midst of confusion. While that is their right and their priveledge, that's not my style. Given the spirit of the quote, I will pass on what I learned from another most inspiring character, Maya Angelou :

Tasting the Pepper... and learning to be present with discomfort
The Buddha said that those who are mindless are as if dead already. To me, mindfulness is the fullness of attention, the quality of immediacy, and non-distraction. It is being present, and truly alive no matter what is happening, no matter how unpleasant.
Mindfulness is the quality that allows us to observe without judging. Normally, we hear sounds, taste tastes, or experience emotions, and immediately make a decision around them based on a whole complex of conditioning that shapes, colors, and filters our realities. We like something, we don't like something, and instantly our mind has already jumped ahead, drawing conclusions based on those judgements.
An example of how our conditioning shapes our experience can be illustrated by a simple condiment. One day I was invited by my friend to lunch at the new ethnic restaurant his father had just opened. I bit down on a whole pepper and my mouth just caught fire.
I remarked to my friend that I didn't like the taste of chilies, and he said, "Well, we don't like the taste of chilis either, but we believe that the stinging sensation will clear the palate and that it's good for digestion and health."
We went on to talk about what the natural property of the chili is and how it creates a physiological sensation of burning, which is a direct experience. But the next aspect of that reality is what we make of the experience. And how a cultural belief system can be part of the experience.
So my friend bites down on a chili, feels the burning, and reflects, "That is a good blessing for my health."
And here I was thinking, "I've got to get out of this restaurant! Maybe I can go somewhere and get a salad!"
The experience of tasting the pepper can be a metaphor, for our way of being in the world.
In the normal course of our days, our judements come so quickly and so strongly, we're lost in them. Consequently, we're out of touch with our lives, and all life. I'm already somewhere else with my imaginary salad instead of here, in the moment, with the pepper. We can use mindfulness to create a space between experience and interpretation. In that space, we can open beyond our conditioning to new possibilities and new understandings. And maybe even find a blessing hiding in the event.
A simple way of practicing mindfulness is to make a mental label of sensations. If you feel sleepy, you might say to yourself, "sleepy." If you have a thought, you say "thinking." When I was first studying meditation, I was given the instruction to try to make mental notes all the time. Whether I was sitting or doing walking meditation, I was trying to make a mental note. I began to notice that the single most common note I made was "waiting." I was waiting for something more exciting, important, or spiritually significant to happen. Wanting something more, different, better.
When I paid attention to that note, to the "waiting," I could begin to let the waiting go and be connected with what was. I could taste the pepper. And say, "thank you."

Before the Madness: Create Sacred Space for Seasonal Serenity!
Before the Holiday Madness overtakes your sense and sensibilities, I urge you to create a quiet, inspiring place in your home that helps you feel more connected to what's meaningful in your life. Like me, many of you already have sacred spaces dedicated for practices such as meditation, yoga, prayer, healing, or divination. But even if you do not need a dedicated place for "daily rituals", or you already have a space for these, you might want to create a space simply for "seasonal serenity".
Creating your own sacred space lets you express your deepest human need for ongoing spiritual nourishment, which transcends obligatory holiday shopping and social engagements which can be devoid of any nourishment at all. Everyone can benefit from creating places where they intentionally choose what surrounds them. Entering a sacred space is like giving yourself permission to take a moment to be renewed, to find rest, to get out of your head and honor what's in your heart. Sacred spaces feed the spirit. And, that can go a long way toward helping you feel more centered, grounded, healthy, and happy.
Creating sacred space is all about making personal choices that feel right intuitively, so there is no right or wrong way to do it. Begin by arranging objects that give you energy, inspire you, and are pleasing to all of your senses – that which tastes, sounds, smells, looks and feels good to you.
Even if you can not dedicate an entire room, you can use a corner of a room or garden. Also consider using a cushion, rug, low table, or screen to make your sacred space feel more contained, relaxing and personal. I personally love outdoor spaces, in all seasons, as nature's voice is most often what I need to hear when the Madness is calling me. I maintain a medicine wheel on my beach, and a beautiful crystal grid in my herb garden which are both large enough for me to sit at their centers. Because they are used often, they hold tremendous positive fields and are magnets to many of the sweet little creatures that also share my yard; butterflies, birds, chipmunks and more! Those creatures provide me with a wonderful connection to the Earth, and they are in fact the most important sounds, and sensually pleasing additions to my sacred spaces. Indoors, I have a traditional healing space pleasing to Oshun. The only sound is the waves of the lake caressing the shoreline.
Whether you create a space outdoors or inside, focus on aesthetically pleasing items that speak to you, inspire you, and that are meaningful to you. You might include:
- Stones and shells that hold memories from special places
- A dish garden or fountain
- Talismans and symbols of peace and safety
- Artwork and photographs of loved ones and special places
- Statuary and traditional symbols of divine and protective energies
- Candles, incense, scented plants and flowers
- Color, light, texture, fabrics, mirrors, crystals, chimes
- Poetry, sacred texts, favorite quotes and words of wisdom from any and all faiths
- Personal Divination Tools such as Runes, Shells, or a favorite deck of Tarot cards
- Music: Instruments or CDs
It all starts with a desire to make something as beautiful and as comforting as you possibly can, just for you. This space is yours. Today, honor your heart's desire to feel more connected to what's truly meaningful in your life. I wish you seasonal serenity!
